Music

Southside Christian School offers students a variety of opportunities to develop their God-given musical talents through general music, choir, and vocal ensembles. Beginning in Kindergarten, students participate in general music classes that build a foundation in musical understanding, vocal development, and performance.

Elementary General Music is offered to students in grades K-5, introducing fundamental music concepts and encouraging creativity through singing, movement, and musical activities.

Middle and High School Choir are elective courses that allow students to strengthen their vocal techniques, develop ensemble skills, and perform in concerts and special events throughout the school year.

Sabre Singers is an audition-based high school vocal ensemble that provides advanced training in chamber music, vocal performance, and small ensemble techniques.

In addition to school performances, Sabre Singer students have opportunities to audition for All-State Choir.  These experiences allow students to receive professional feedback, collaborate with talented musicians, and continue growing in their musical abilities.

Southside Christian School offers students a variety of opportunities to develop their musical talents through concert band and string orchestra. Beginning in sixth grade, students may participate in instrumental music as an elective, continuing through middle and high school.

Middle School Band and String Orchestra are available to students in grades 6-8, providing opportunities to strengthen musical skills, develop ensemble techniques, and perform throughout the school year.

High School Concert Band and String Orchestra are elective courses for students in grades 9-12, offering continued musical growth through rehearsals, concerts, and special performances, including the annual Spring Fine Arts Tour.

In addition to school performances, instrumental students have opportunities to participate in Concert Performance Assessment (CPA) and Concert Music Assessment (CMA) events, as well as audition for Region and All-State ensembles. These experiences allow students to receive professional feedback, perform alongside talented musicians from other schools, and continue developing their musical abilities.
