Mary Beth Williams, Class of 1994
Each year, we take a moment at homecoming to recognize a Southside Christian School graduate who has demonstrated a lifestyle consistent with the Christ-like character, biblical values, and our expected student outcomes of: 1) spiritual formation in Christ, 2) intellectual development, and 3) cultural engagement.
Mary Beth Williams (Powell) graduated from Southside Christian School in 1994. Her parents, Danny and Frankie Powell sacrificed significantly so that their children could attend Southside Christian.
Mary Beth attended Cedarville University in 1998, where she received a Bachelor of Science in English Education with a minor in Bible. She returned to Southside Christian School and taught from 2001 to 2004.
Mary Beth currently works at Fellowship Greenville as the Women’s Ministry Coordinator, where she uses her gifts of teaching, discernment, and administration to pour into the lives of women in the Greenville community.
Mary Beth is married to Eric Williams and they have 5 children. In 2008, God called the Williams family to step out in faith and begin fostering. Over the last 13 years, Mary Beth has been a mother to dozens of kids who needed comfort and protection.
Her experiences as a foster parent have developed in her a strong advocacy and tireless effort to protect the vulnerable children in this community. She is actively involved in many foster parent organizations and constantly mentors, disciples, and serves other foster parents around the Greenville area.
We are proud to call Mary Beth an alumna of Southside Christian School!
