Alumni Highlight: Cole and Braeden Bensch, Class of 2016

After graduating from SCS, Cole and Braeden Bensch attended Clemson University. Cole graduated in December 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a minor in biology. Braeden graduated in May 2020 with a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. They were married in June 2021 by their former Bible teacher, Mr. Nathan Forrest.
Cole currently works in Pediatric Clinical Research at Tribe Clinical Research, and Braeden is in her first year as a medical student at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine (VCOM) in Spartanburg.
For fun, they attend Clemson football games and visit their friends from college across the Southeast. They also enjoy taking their goldendoodle, Murphy, to the park and on trips.
Cole says, “SCS prepared both of us for our future in multiple ways. We would both agree that spiritually, SCS helped us develop into who we are today. Through Bible class and chapel, we really felt like we could grow into the man and woman God wanted us to be. Academically, SCS allowed us to be challenged to a point where we felt prepared for college and post-graduate schooling. We both agree that SCS put us in a place where we were at an advantage going into college, compared to our peers. The teachers and staff at SCS truly helped shape us into who we are today. Not just academically, but also spiritually.”
