We believe the obstacles of keeping our students in school during a COVID-19 year helped us grow stronger and find new ways to meet our students where they are both academically and spiritually.
However, we are so excited for aspects of school to return to normal next year! Here are some ways we are going back to normal for the 2021-2022 school year.
Small Groups and Chapel
All of our students, Early Education through High School, will be able to attend in-person chapels every week. During COVID-19, we recorded our chapels and the students watched them in their classrooms. We are also excited to bring back our small groups in Middle and High School.
Lunch in the Cafeteria
Our cafeteria has been used by Fine Arts in order to socially distance the students in those classes. This coming year, the students will be able to return to lunches in the cafeteria with all new furniture. Elementary School students will be able to have their Fun Fridays, a large dance party that happens during Friday’s lunchtime.
Parents and Volunteers
Parents and volunteers will now be able to enter the building and have more of a hands-on experience. Parents and volunteers, thank you for all you do for our school community and for your patience this year. We can’t wait to see you back on campus!
We’re growing! To accommodate that, we’re remodeling some offices and smaller classrooms to make room for more sections and grades. Additionally, we're renovating the Sabre Center (gym) this summer – lights, floor, bleachers, paint, and more!
Elementary School Families
Our Elementary School Families, Huruma, Valor, Kunnia, and Cairdeas, will be able to return to Family meetings and fun celebrations together! We’re so excited to continue the Families in Elementary School on a more personal level for our students.
We miss our SCS community being together and are so excited to return to exciting events, like class parties, special birthday lunches, Father/Daughter Banquet, Open Houses, Preview Nights, and tailgating before the football games!
We are planning to resume all regularly scheduled field trips and J-Term trips for the 2021-2022 school year.
We’re saying goodbye to temperature checks!
Some of our little friends in Early Education were sad for temperature checks to end. Our EE students loved bringing different toys and jokes to share with the teachers and staff each morning as they got their temperature checked. The teachers and staff are still welcoming our students each morning, so our little ones don’t feel like they’re missing out on special times with their teachers.
We’re so excited to return to normal, and not only that, an improved normal! Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s education. We can’t wait to see what God has in store for our SCS community in the coming year.
