After graduating from SCS in 1994, Beth attended Erskine College, where she graduated in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She married her high school sweetheart and fellow SCS alum, John Montgomery.
After graduating college, Beth worked as a project manager for a contract research organization in Durham, N.C. She also received her training in behavior modification and worked with the Department of Disabilities and Special Needs as a therapist for children with autism in Anderson, Greenville, and Spartanburg.
Between 2004 and 2009, she was blessed with three children. In between her first two children, she had the opportunity to receive training in biblical counseling in Moore, S.C. During this two-year program, God began working in Beth’s heart to teach her that His Word truly has all the answers to life’s pain and suffering.
In 2009, Beth took on the task of homeschooling her children. Beth says, "This was a big surprise to me and everyone who knew me! I had never planned on educating my children this way, but the Lord absolutely led us down this path."
Beth’s family attends Grace Church of Greenville, where her husband, John, serves as a deacon and where Beth facilitates a ladies' prayer group.
In her free time, Beth loves weekend getaways with her husband and taking vacations with her family to the beach. She also enjoys running with her children, who are all runners as well.
Beth says, "The small family-like environment of SCS was a place I was able to thrive both academically and personally. The teachers knew me well and many of them took a personal interest in me. The small class size definitely encouraged me to think critically and prepared me for my time at Erskine as a biology major."
