Elementary School

Elementary School (grades 1-5) is a time of critical growth in the lives of our children. Students are developing academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. Foundations are being established in the lives of our children that build on God’s giftedness and prepare them for God’s calling in their lives. At Southside Christian School, our objective is to help your children develop the skills and abilities God gives them in a challenging, supportive, and fun learning environment.  We do this through the lens of a biblical worldview education that prepares your children for all areas of life.

Elementary School Highlights

Biblical Worldview
The best education is one built on God and His Word.  Our Bible-believing teachers infuse Scripture and biblical truth into all subjects, helping students see how God’s Word is relevant to every aspect of learning and every area of their lives.

We believe that transformative education happens only in the context of relationships. Teachers serve as mentors to students, encouraging them to develop Christ-like attitudes and God-honoring relationships with others.

Excellence in Learning
The combination of passionate teachers and excellent educational resources provides an inspiring learning environment. Interactive activities and engaging instruction stimulate the minds of our students. Higher-order thinking skills are developed alongside meaningful relationships with teachers and classmates, and students are active participants in the learning process.

Whole Child Development
Our approach to education is to help develop the whole child– academically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually.  We take into account each child’s cognitive development, molding them into independent critical thinkers who value wisdom and the source of all wisdom. We focus on foundational skill development as students grow in their comprehension, logic, and critical thinking abilities. Our goal is to help students cultivate their God-given gifts and abilities so they are equipped to make a difference in the world around them.

Co-Curricular Activities
While the learning process in core subjects is designed to be fun and engaging, we provide additional opportunities to foster the development of our students. Specials classes are incorporated into each week’s schedule, including physical education, music, art, computer, library, and STEM lab activities. After-school programs include opportunities in the arts, sports, music, Bible, and media.  A variety of special events, service projects, field trips, and chapel programs enhance the learning experience and promote community.
