Levi and Lindsay Hunt, Current Parents
"It’s easy to read about schools online, but Southside’s mission is even more evident when you are surrounded by it. You will quickly see that SCS is a top notch academic school that truly is Christ-centered. This is the balance that SCS strives for day in and day out. "
How long have your children attended SCS?
This is our 4th year at SCS
Why did you chose to send your children to SCS?
We chose SCS after researching and touring several other schools in the area. We knew very quickly that Southside Christian was where we needed to be. The balance of academics, values, Christian education, class size, and teacher/student relationships drew us to join the SCS family.
What would you say to a parent who might be considering sending their children to SCS?
Take a tour and have your child shadow for a day. Talk to currently enrolled parents. It’s easy to read about schools online, but Southside’s mission is even more evident when you are surrounded by it. You will quickly see that SCS is a top notch academic school that truly is Christ-centered. This is the balance that SCS strives for day in and day out. We have been nothing but pleased in seeing this mission put on display each year.
Do you feel like your child is being challenged academically?
Absolutely. We have no doubt that our girls will be well prepared for college down the road. College seems like a long way off, but the foundation our girls are getting now is setting them up for success both academically and spiritually.
Outside of academics, how has SCS impacted your children?
First and foremost our oldest daughter accepted the Lord to be her Savior in second grade during chapel at SCS. What an amazing celebration and memory that is for us! Our children are taught lessons of integrity and service. The faculty and staff incorporate the gospel into their lessons, teaching the children grace and kindness with Jesus as their motivation. Our kids have gained so much from memorizing scripture and hearing Bible stories alongside their core classes. What a blessing it is to see these characteristics blossom outside of the classroom.
