ORDERING FAMILY ATTIRE
With the start of a new school year, your student may be interested in purchasing new Family attire for his or her SCS Family. There will be several days throughout the year when we invite students to wear their Family attire to school as a way to earn Family points and to celebrate their Family. All new students and first grade students will be provided with a short-sleeve Family shirt in the coming weeks. If you need to purchase a replacement shirt, or if you want to get ready for the colder weather, then you may purchase items at SCS Family Online Store. To purchase items, please click here.
FIRST LEGO LEAGUE ROBOTICS
FIRST LEGO League Robotics (FLL) is a national organization that focuses on solving real world problems using STEM concepts and LEGO. The fall session is now starting as the team is preparing for the upcoming fall competition in late October. Fifth through eighth grade students are welcome to join the team on Monday afternoons from 3:30-5 p.m. The team is open to anyone, and there is a fee for the competition and shirts. For more information, please contact Andy Kneeland or Rob Sawtelle
MIDDLE SCHOOL NEWS
MIDDLE SCHOOL CAR LINE MIDDLE SCHOOL SPIRITUAL LIFE CONFERENCE
In the back parking lot where middle school car line occurs, we have three different age groups being dismissed at various times. We are asking that middle school parents wait until after 3 p.m. to arrive for car line.
When you arrive between 3-3:20 p.m., please enter the gravel parking lot to wait until our EE and ES parents can complete their pickups on time. Once it is 3:15, please pull from the gravel lot toward the building, around the curve, and stop by the handicap parking spaces. As students are dismissed, they will come to your car. Please do not stop by the picnic tables, but continue around so we can get as many cars around the curve as possible. Our teachers will call students by last name and direct them to your car.
With so many cars at dismissal, we want to make sure our car line does not back up into Woodruff Road and cause any traffic issues. Thank you for helping to keep all of our students safe in middle school car line!
MIDDLE SCHOOL SPIRITUAL LIFE CONFERENCE
Our Middle School Spiritual Life Conference will be September 12-13. Please be praying for our middle school students as they participate in fun activities, uplifting praise and worship, small group sessions, and challenging messages from God’s Word. We are looking forward to seeing how God moves in our middle school during Spiritual Life Conference.
MIDDLE SCHOOL CLUBS
During the Club Fair on Tuesday, the middle school students were able to preview and join a middle school club. The clubs offered for middle school were Lego League, Book Club (girls only), Latin Club, and Spanish Club. We will be developing more clubs for middle school in the future, so let us know of any suggestions you would like to see added to the list.
