Alumni Highlight: Annemarie Piccione, Class of 2018

She has been on the President’s List every year since attending Clemson and has been certified through an Emerging Leaders course.
Recently, she’s had the opportunity to volunteer 20 hours through Prisma to deliver almost 400 vaccines to the 1A priority group for the COVID vaccine.
She’s also had the opportunity to take a medical mission trip to Costa Rica with Clemson Pre-Med majors. While there, she was able to work with hundreds of patients who would have otherwise had no access to health care. She has helped raise money for cardiac health research for doctors in the Greenville-Spartanburg area as well.
Annemarie loves being involved in her sorority’s weekly Christian small group. For fun, she enjoys jet skiing and wake surfing with her friends at Lake Keowee. You can also find her on campus having a Chick-Fil-A picnic beside Lake Hartwell and attending group fitness classes at the campus gym. And of course, you can find her cheering on the Tigers during football season.
Annemarie says, “SCS gave me a great foundation for not only academics, but also my faith to be continued throughout college. The teachers, administration, and students set the bar high, and I think that has impacted not only my work ethic for school, but also my friend groups in college in a positive way. Not to mention, college English professors are often impressed by writing techniques used by former SCS students (shoutout to Mrs. Bennett). As I look to graduation, I know that even in my future career (hopefully starting out in ICU nursing) I will use lessons from Southside’s foundation that they have equipped me with.”
