The extensive high school curriculum includes approximately 100 courses organized around the core subjects of English, mathematics, science, social studies, technology skills, fine arts, foreign languages, Bible, business, and physical education. Advanced Placement and Honors classes are available in major subject areas. Daily devotions, weekly chapel services, and a spiritual emphasis week are an essential part of student life at Southside Christian School.
SCS offers students the option to participate in many extracurricular pursuits, including band, choir, handbells, art, speech, and drama. There are many clubs, leadership organizations, and service organizations affiliated with the high school.
SCS is a member of the South Carolina High School League, Region II-A. The following teams are available: Baseball, Basketball, Cheerleading, Cross Country, Fastpitch Softball, Football, Golf, Soccer, Swimming, Tennis, and Volleyball.
Recognizing the uniqueness of the middle school years, we seek to involve middle school students in challenging, interesting learning activities which will help them focus their direction academically and spiritually. The core curriculum includes Bible, English, history, math, science, physical education and health. A complete fine arts program is also available. Students in grades seven and eight may try out for junior varsity and varsity teams in soccer, volleyball, tennis, swimming, golf, basketball, cheerleading, baseball, softball, track, and cross country. Participation in Bible quiz and academic quiz teams is encouraged on a volunteer basis. High school courses may be taken for credit by qualifying 8th grade students.
