| All State Chorus dream becomes a reality |
Congratulations to junior Taylor Silvey and sophomore Tanner Garrick for being selected to the 2011 All State Chorus performing at Winthrop University. The significant designation reflects outstanding talent, training, and conduct during the qualifying competition where 1,815 students representing 90 schools from across the state competed for the honor. | Varsity Academic Quiz Team claim grand championship |
Southside Christian School's Varsity Academic Quiz Team claimed the grand championship at the 20th Annual USC Challenge Academic Bowl. Competing against 24 teams representing 18 schools from across the state in A through AAAA divisions, the Sabres were undefeated in all 10 rounds of competition, scoring a total of 1,410 points. There is no greater education of the heart and soul than to watch a senior citizen laugh with delight or a child's face light up from the simple joy of having time and attention given to them. Through Service Days at Southside Christian School, students have the unique opportunity to impact lives in a powerful way, using their gifts, abilities, and compassionate natures to serve greater than fifteen nonprofit organizations in the area.
