Message from Dr. Reel

I am very excited about this year!  The Lord has His hand upon SCS and He is revealing Himself to us in tangible ways.  Our goal this year is to produce disciples for Jesus Christ whose lives honor and please the Lord, as evidenced by every kind of good fruit as they grow in the knowledge of God. (Col. 1:6-10; Matt. 28:19; John 15:8).  In biblical times, one was said to be a true disciple when he followed his teacher so closely that he was covered with his dust.  We have a tremendous opportunity to partner with Christian parents in discipling the next generation of believers.  May we all be "covered in the dust" of our Teacher, the Lord Jesus Christ, and may our students follow us closely as we follow Him closely.

Here at SCS, our focus on academic study is a natural part of that discipleship process.  We believe that the pursuit of knowledge, especially that which is infused with biblical truth, will equip our students to be successful in college, career and life.  Jesus said, "When a student is fully trained, he will be like his teacher."  (Luke 6:40)  I am so grateful to the Lord for the incredible gift He has supplied to SCS in our teachers.  They are godly, gifted, experienced and committed to excellence.  While all of our teachers are properly credentialed and certified, we have a growing number of master teachers in every discipline and grade level.  This is truly a tremendous time to be a part of Southside Christian School.

Please join me in praying that our students "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ" as we work together to produce disciples for Him.

            In His service,

            Stephen G. Reel, Ph.D.

            Superintendent
