Carl Martinez teaches EE Spanish at Southside Christian School. Mr. Martinez is enjoying his second year of service at SCS. He has many years experience in Christian Education as well as with the US Postal Service.

Mr. Martinez was born in Cuba and came to the US as a political refugee. He earned a BA degree from Georgia State University and went on to study Spanish/English Medical Interpretation at the University of Georgia. Since trusting his life to Christ, Mr. Martinez has served in many positions –janitor, Sunday School teacher, chairman of deacons, church elder, and youth pastor. He is a strong advocate for Christian education and was a founding member of Cumberland Christian Academy in Cobb County, Georgia. He is currently in the process of writing a book for elementary-age children.

Mr. Martinez and his wife, Debbie, are proud parents of April and Tabitha and grandparents to five…with another on the way! Mr. Martinez enjoys spending time with his family, dining at Bonefish Grill, and shopping at Academy Sports and The Home Depot. He and his wife attend Taylors First Baptist Church.

Mr. Martinez’s favorite passage is James 4:17: ^“Anyone, then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn't do it, sins.”
