Mike Johnson teaches U.S. History, Honors U.S. History, and AP U.S. History at Southside Christian School.  He also serves as the Assistant Athletic Director.  Prior to coming to Southside Christian, he taught at Shades Mountain Christian School and at Grace College.  He has been teaching for nineteen years.

Mr. Johnson graduated with a BA from Southeastern Bible College and a BS from Grace College.  He has been named Region IIA Coach of the Year in girls’ basketball and Region IIA Coach of the Year in girls’ cross country.

Mr. Johnson and his wife, Lori, have three children, Jon, Jana, and Joelle.  He enjoys sports, both watching and playing.  He also enjoys reading history books and biographies.  He likes to eat at Rafferty's and Chops.  He and his family attend Southside Fellowship.  

Mr. Johnson's favorite verse is I Thessalonians 5:17-19: Pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.  Do not quench the Spirit.
