Debby Oveson teaches second grade at Southside Christian School. She has eighteen years of experience teaching in a variety of settings and schools with seven of those years at Southside Christian.
Mrs. Oveson graduated magna cum laude from Furman University in 1981 with a B.A. in special education with teaching certificates in elementary education, learning disabilities, and emotionally disabled.
Mrs. Oveson and her husband, Larry, have been married twenty-eight years and have two children. Paul is a junior at Clemson University studying Architecture. Liz is a sophomore at Winthrop University studying Interior Design.
Mrs. Oveson has been on several mission trips to Bulgaria where she was responsible to plan and teach Vacation Bible School and lead a ladies’ Bible study. She enjoys reading, walking, traveling and spending time with her family. She likes to eat at the Peddler, Applebee’s, and McAlister’s Deli and shop at Kohl’s and Steinmart. Her family attends Woodruff Road Presbyterian Church.
Mrs. Oveson’s favorite verse is Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”
