Southside Christian School launches a new summer program entitled SummerQuest. In addition to child care from 7:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, children may attend SummerQuest….A Learning Journey from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. each day. SummerQuest will take each student “traveler” on an adventure-filled trek to a different location each week as SCS transforms into exciting places such as the Wild, Wild West, Southside Little Theater and Mr. Goodbody’s Gym. Biblically-based activities will come alive through music, reading, art, writing, Bible stories, Spanish, sports and exercise, field trips, and service opportunities. Our SummerQuest programs are open to current SCS families, new 2010-11 families and other Christian families in the surrounding community.
Jo Dillard, Early Education Principal for Southside Christian School, explains, “SummerQuest provides a way for children to continue to grow through fun and engaging activities that are different from the traditional classroom.” Led by teachers who model Christ every day, participants can choose to attend from one to nine weeks of sessions designed to foster growth in multiple developmental areas while encouraging creativity and thinking skills. Parents will be included in the fun as well, with a special invitation every Friday at noon to view their child’s accomplishments and activities from the week. Mrs. Dillard continues, “SummerQuest will develop gifts and talents within each child that they may not even recognize they have. Highlighting these gifts, building confidence and godly character, and having good clean fun are what we’re all about!”
