Upper School Science Teacher, 2018-2019 School Year
SCS Upper School Science Department has a full time teaching position available for eighth grade earth science, high school environmental science, and college-prep physics. Applicants with a related field degree are preferred.  An emphasis on being able to plan and execute lab experiences as well as teach conceptually is necessary. The ideal applicant must be able to obtain ACSI teacher certification in science. Interested applicants should submit application, transcripts, and teaching certificate to Kristin McDowell.

Upper School Sign Language Teacher, 2018-2019 School Year
The Sign Language I/II teacher’s role is to help students learn American Sign Language (ASL) and Deaf Culture.  The teacher must be able to teach basic conversations in sign language incorporating the fundamentals of sign language grammar, vocabulary, fingerspelling, numbers, and culture.  The Sign Language I/II teacher must be able to teach appropriate sign choice for clear and accurate basic communication (needs, wants, opinions) along with the application of appropriate grammar and syntax (facial expression, body language, signing space).  Because cultural aspects of sign language are integrated throughout the course, the Sign Language I/II teacher must have a basic understanding of Deaf culture, differences between Deaf and Hearing cultures, and insight of the experiences of being deaf when communicating in a hearing world.  Finally, the teacher must also be able to select, plan, and lead field trips and performance exams as assessments of student learning.  Interested applicants should submit application, resume, transcripts, and teaching certificate to Kristin McDowell (kmcdowell@southsidechristian.org).

Information Technology – Systems Administrator, full time, 12 month
We have an immediate opening for a Systems Administrator, to join the Information Technology team within the Operations Department. The preferred candidate would have verifiable experience in Windows server management, wired and wireless networking, mobile device management, and hardware life cycle management. Information Technology Department personnel also provide help desk support to approximately 150 faculty and ensure that roughly 800 students can use computing devices for educational purposes. The qualified applicant would have a bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant degree and a minimum of five years’ work experience in information technology. Certifications such as A+, Network+, Microsoft, Cisco, and VMWare would provide evidence of adequate knowledge in relevant areas.
Operations department employees are encouraged to invest in the lives of students where appropriate. Such opportunities may include coaching, small group leadership, J-term participation, and school sponsored short term mission trips.

Early Education Afternoon Assistant, Part-time
The ideal candidate will enjoy working with children and have a good understanding of child development and safety guidelines. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma. It is critical to possess excellent skills in managing a group of children, the ability to use good judgment in making decisions, and good communication skills. The hours for this position are 1-6 p.m.. Monday through Friday. Interested applicants should submit an application to Kristin McDowell.

Bus Driver – Part-Time 2017-2018 School Year
Qualified applicants must have a commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class A, B, or C with passenger and bus endorsements and no intrastate restrictions. Air brake qualification and South Carolina bus driver certification are highly desirable, but SCS is willing to assist in attaining these qualifications. This is a part-time position with opportunities to drive for field trips and athletic events. Scheduling is flexible and pay will be commensurate with qualifications.
