Sabre Teams Compete for State Titles this Weekend

  • Lady Sabres Soccer play Academic Magnet (Charleston, SC) for the Class 2A state championship at Irmo High School this Friday at 2pm.
  • Sabre Track program competes for a state championship this Saturday at Spring Valley High School starting at 2pm.

Jackson Morris Named Boys Soccer Player of the Week 

Jackson Morris was named the Milestone Custom Homes Player of the Week for his performances against Greer Middle College Charter School and Easley High School.


Boys and Girls Track Prepare for State Qualifier After Winning Region Championship

Congratulations to both the Boys and Girls Track team on winning their respective Class AA – Region 2 Championships at Liberty High School on Wednesday, April 25th.


Maddie Stringer Named to North-South All-Star Soccer Team

Senior Maddie Stringer was selected by the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association to represent Sabre Soccer at the North-South Soccer Classic this summer.  Maddie helped lead our Lady Sabres to an undefeated regular season, and is one of only four players from Greenville county selected to play in the tournament.  For information about the time, date, and location of the game click here.

 


Intramural Basketball Camp starts Monday.

SCS is excited to offer intramural basketball camp for girls and boys in grades 1-6.    The camp will be led by SCS Varsity Head Coach  Rick Remer. As an instructor at the Coach Spo Basketball Academy, Coach Remer has extensive experience in running engaging and impactful basketball camps for all levels of participants.

Thomas Ridgeway named Boys Soccer Player of the Week.

Thomas Ridgeway was named the Milestone Custom Homes Player of the Week for his performances against Greenville Technical Charter School, Christ Church Episcopal School, and Abbeville High School.


Sabre Teammates Qualify for State Championship Strength Meet.

Junior Coby Greene and Sophomore Malory Pinkney competed in the regional qualifier for the South Carolina Strength Coaches Association .  Pinkney won the 205 lb. division, and Greene finished third in the 170 lb. division.  Both Greene and Pinkney will move on to the SCSCA State Championship Strength Meet at White Knoll High School on Saturday March 24th.

Lady Sabres Soccer Ranked #1

Southside Christian is No. 1 in Class AA in the first poll of the season released by the South Carolina High School Soccer Coaches Association.

Jackson Morris was named the Milestone Custom Homes Player of the Week for his performances against St. Joseph’s Catholic School and Brashier Middle College Charter School.


Track Complex at Sabre Stadium renamed in honor of late track coach.

On Saturday February 24, 2018, Southside Christian School held the inaugural “Frank Kleckner Invitational” track meet.  During the meet, it was announced that the track complex would be named the “Frank Kleckner Memorial Track at Sabre Stadium” in honor of the late Frank Kleckner.  Coach Kleckner’s wife, Dianne Kleckner, received a replica of the plaque that will be permanently mounted at the main entrance of Sabre Stadium. Coach Kleckner was also honored as a South Carolina Track and Cross Country Coaches Association Hall of Fame inductee.

Hannah Fuller and Matt Kormylo voted Class AA Region 2 Players of the Year, also receive nods to Class AA All-State teams.

For the first time in the history of Sabre basketball,  both the  boys’ and girls’ Region Player of the year are Sabres.  Additionally, both Fuller and Kormylo were named by the South Carolina Basketball Coaches’ Association as members of the Class AA All- State Team.

 


Austin Greer signs to play football for Carson-Newman University.
